Orange County Piano Teacher Faces 30 Years for Alleged Acts with Young Students
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — John Mordecai Scott, 58, was arrested August 10th on suspicion of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, KTLA 5 News reported. Scott, a Lake Forest area piano teacher, was suspected of showing and taking lewd photos of at least two of his students, elentary school age girls in naked and compromising positions at his residence on El Toro Road, authorities said in a statement.
According to the news report, evidence led investigators to believe there may be additional victims. Scott also taught at Coast Band Music in Mission Viejo and OC Music in Rancho Santa Margarita.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said bail was originally set at $500,000.Scott appeared in court on August 12, where the District Attorney’s office announced charges that could send him to state prison for 30 years and four months. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment hearing.
