    Nicole Wooten, a physical-education teacher at Herrera Elementary School, was arrested in February 2013 and charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse of a 14-year-old student between April and October of 2006. Wooten admitted to having a “sexual relationship” with a 12-year-old girl. Wooten was 36 at the time. The suspected acts took place at Wooten’s apartment in Mesa, according to court documents. Wooten was placed on unpaid leave at the time of her arrest. She was sentenced in January 2015 to 20 years in prison with lifetime probation. News Source: AZ Central
