Michael Aaron Black, 28, the band director at Pasco Middle School in Dade City, was arrested in September 2006 after he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a female student. Black told police he had sex with the girl 10 times, including the morning of his arrest in the school’s band room. According to prosecutors, Black started the relationship with his victim when she was 13 and a seventh-grader in his music classes. Black, a resident of Lakeland, was married with two young children. Black faced up to 45 years in prison if convicted at trial. He plead guilty in January 2008 and rejected a state offer of 15 years in prison. A judge sentenced him in March 2008 to 22 ½ years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation. News Source: SPTimes.com
