  • MANZANITA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (REDDING)
1240 Manzanita Hills Ave. Redding, CA 96001
Joshua Edward Hoffman, 27, of Redding, a fifth-grade teacher at Manzanita Elementary School, was indicted by a Shasta County grand jury in 2008 on 12 felony counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 14. Facing up to life in prison if a jury convicted him on all counts, he agreed to a plea deal in November 2008, admitting guilt on three of the 12 charges. The judge chose to impose the maximum eight-year prison term. In May 2015, the Redding Record Searchlight reported that prosecutors were seeking to have Hoffman declared a sexually violent predator, so that he could be committed to a state mental hospital, possibly for life.
